Michael DeSantis is only a freshman but you wouldn't know that from his work ethic and performance. A three sport star for South River High School, New Jersey, Michael from a Group 1, small town in NJ came up big when it counted the most. The freshman right fielder had a strong finish down the stretch for the RAMS scoring the only run in a 1-0 upset victory of the top seed in the state sectional semi finals. Michael, who was 10 for 10 in stolen bases this season stole third, then took advantage of an off throw, to score the games only run. What sport do you play? I train Brazillian Jiu Jitsu and recently started training Judo at Pure MMA
What are your goals? (do you track by when you need to accomplish them?) Right now my biggest goal is to be a world champion. Last year I competed as a blue belt at the IBJJF No-Gi Worlds in California and lost my first match. I'm not going to let that happen again this year. I'm going to put in harder work and really push myself to achieve this goal. Last year I got nervous being on the big stage. I’m confident this year I won’t let the pressure get to me and will be wearing that gold medal around my neck at the end of the day.
